Kagamibiraki 2005

Our traditional meeting of the beginning of the year gathered, from 7 to 9 January 2005, some 130 practitioners of the European Jodo Federation (FEJ). This year again, we had the pleasure to see some outsider like Luis from Venezuela, and two new groups that will be officilized during 2005: La Réunion and Hungary. The attitude of these new participants have impressed us. We are honoured and enthusiastic to welcome them in the Federation.

Although the place seemed pretty small at moments, the Gasshuku went well to the very end. This is of course grateful to everyone's comprehension. There were some very peculiar moments like those Tandoku performed on the same spot, Saturday morning.

On Saturday night, the FEJ General Assembly, chaired for the last time by Giulio Casarini, was led without any problems. (description of the AG in the "FEJ structures" section. Thanks to our from now on former President for having brought to his mandate that wonderful touch of humanity, and to have unceasingly promoted family spirit and solidarity. Welcome to our new President, Barbara Meroni. We wish her plenty of success.

I am repeating this years after years, but I think it is indispensable. This marvelous meeting is only possible grateful to the help, so natural that we almost forget to thank the persons involved, of the teachers, first, who come to help without being paid for it, of Jean-Pierre Pahud, the head organizer, who invests himself personally, years after years, and does a wonderful job; Georges Kraus who seems to think that "the more years, the more we have to do", Vincent Zanhd, Christina, Pascal Thimoté, and all those I forget right now, who helped for cleaning up the place afterwards. Thanks to all. Be sure that your efforts are greatly appreciated.

While hoping to see you all (but not too many) next year at the same period (6 to 8 January 2006), I would like to thank you again for coming. Happy new year to all. It is everytime with deep joy that I see you at this occasion.
