News from our group in La Réunion

As suggested on the EJF website I herewith transmit some news from our group in La Réunion. Although this island is located in the Indian Ocean, it still belongs to France. That’s why our group feels perfectly well within the European Jodo Federation.

Since 2002, we organise a seminar in February under the direction of Jaff RAJI. This year, the seminar took place from February 19 to 27 in the northern part of the island. This time we were very pleased to see that Jodo has been introduced besides Aikido and Iaido. About ten beginners discovered the first 6 Kihon. Those who are already more advanced could study the Kihon Sotai and the first two kata from the Omote series. Some of them would like to continue and our club, Ecole réunionnaise de Budo, has currently 10 people who practice Jodo regularly, trying to do their best with what has been transmitted to them so far. Two from our group will certainly be at the summer camp in Vercorin, Switzerland.

Best regards to everybody, especially to Jean-Pierre, to Sergio, to Vincent and to Pascal Krieger (I earnestly hope that his operation has been successful).

Some seminar participants directed by Jaff, all of them members of our association. From left to right, sitting: Didier HUITELEC, Jaff, Samuel SOUPAYA, Laurent BADAT, and standing: Patrick DE FLORE, myself (with my arm broken recently ... what a pity!) and François LORION. The last person at right, Yvan, doesn't practice Jodo. Well, nobody is perfect...!
