SMR Jodo Gasshuku with Kees Bruggink in Dresden

October, 5th to 6th 2013

We are happy to have been the host for the SMR Autumn Seminar with Kees Bruggink (Gomokuroku SMR Jodo) and the host for people from four other countries.

On the first day, our training focussed on Ki Ken Tai for Uchikomi. It felt like it is still a big challenge not to advance with the body while executing the cut.

During the training in general and during Kata Keiko especially we focussed on Ki musubi. It was i.e. a question of finding the right rhythm in the exercises like the famous Chudan drill – to stay connected both Uchidachi/Shidachi and having a certain dynamic in the movements. Not to feel too sleepy and with a wandering spirit in the dojo. To observe each other and have a good balance in action and reaction is an interesting point to observe in your own movements.

On Sunday afternoon we even had the chance to look into Tanjo-Jutsu. Nice refreshing of techniques to everybody.

I was again very happy with the positive spirit of the training, everybody intensivly worked on the given points.

I apologize this time for the late announcement of the seminar. Next one should definitely be published earlier.

Best regards to everybody, Jan
