Würzburg

training camp from June 18th to 19th, 2005

Time is flying fast! This was already our 8th training camp here in Würzburg with Michel and Coco and everybody was again pleased to be able to train with the whole group. We also had the great pleasure to welcome five persons from the Czech Republic together with Patrik, Helga from Austria and Jean-Jérôme, who accompanied Michel and Coco. So far, this training camp has always been the last one before our one-week summer camp takes place. It is, therefore, always a good preparation for the summer camp because we also start at 6 o’clock in the morning. I admit this is not really a pleasure for everybody but in view of the one-week training this seems to be a pleasure trip.

Anyhow, everybody was ready on Saturday morning for a comprehensive review of kihon tandoku that lasted for about one and a half hour. This was followed by an opulent breakfast prepared by two people from the club whom I wish to thank very much, because they do it every year, also on Sunday morning. When we resumed training at nine o’clock we started with some exercises. Then, the rest of the day was almost completely dedicated to kenjutsu. We had expressed this wish last year already. It is a fact that during a gasshuku we normally also do kenjutsu, however we rarely finish the complete series. That’s why we asked Michel and Coco to emphasize this year on kenjutsu. So, everybody had the chance to complete the whole series of ken techniques during these two days.

As usual, Saturday evening saw us again at a restaurant up the hill where we had a beautiful view over the city of Würzburg. This time, people tried in vain to make a picture from me drinking wine. I herewith swear that I only drunk non-alcoholic beverages!!!

Below, you will find some nice pictures taken during this gasshuku. Hope you will like them. And also thanks to Helga as well as to Patrik and his group for coming to Würzburg. See you soon at Vercorin! And last but not least also great thanks to Michel and Coco who, as usual, did a fantastic job.
