Jodo Seminar in Corsica

Oct., 1st to 2nd 2010

It was beginning October that the regional seminar Côte d'Azur-Corsica (in Corsica) took place, this year with a small number of participants but the quality was great. The subject chosen by Jean-Claude was Yoyu (thanks, Pascal, for this fantastic calligraphy) and we made all efforts to respect the content of this subject during the whole seminar, and we were even earlier at the airport for the departure. Jean-Claude as a real master could stick to the program very easily. However, he was quite busy with my requests, in particular in giving an overview about Shinto Muso Ryu Jodo to 3 experienced Aikidoka who joined us the whole Saturday to discover this discipline.

We worked on Omote and Chudan while the newcomers were busy to work on Honte Uchi and Gyakute Uchi so that they were able to practice with us Uchi Otoshi

The afternoon was dedicated to Tanjo Jutsu and Ken Jutsu, accompanied by nice demonstrations for each serie. Finally, Jean-Claude and Dominique gave us a beautiful Kusarigama demonstration.

Jean, José and Michel who were the three invited Aikidoka left us at the end of this day, pleased by having met these people and by having learned something about our discipline.

On Sunday morning we worked on Ran ai and Kage, followed by Samidare and Gohon in the evening.

We now wish a long life to Maité who had the right during the seminar to practice quite a number of Ran ai to commemorate his youth.

We then handed the calligraphy to our youngest participant, Christian, and we left this seminar tired but happy, and we fixed the next meeting from April 1 to April 2, at Côte d'Azur. Hope to see you soon!

Marie-Ange for the whole Un Geï group.
