Spring Seminar of Jodo Club Côte d’Azur
At Iles de Lérins on April 1st and 2nd, 2006
with Laurent SUBILIA, Gilles TACHE (responsible for organization) and Jean-Claude HAMEL.
As every year, the southerners (Cannes-Corsica-Nice) have a first training session before the seminar of Ascension Day on the pavement of Fortress Sainte Marguerite! We were 26 participants who met at Espace Bazen, opposite to the roads of Cannes.
This year, we had a big premiere as the whole group from Corsica came under the direction of its group leader Marie Ange.
The motto of the seminar: HON TE and GYAKU TE chosen by me allowed us to review in detail all basics of Jodo practice. We spent a lot of time to review Kihon tandoku and Kihon sotai without getting tired of it, because the training was very interesting.
On Saturday morning, Dominique BOETTI was kind enough to give us a passionate Ken training by insisting on the utilization and differentiation of the different parts of the human body: hips, arms, hands (one for the preparation and one for the cut) and fingers (those for the movement and those for the force).
Thank you, Dominique......
And it was during the training session in the early morning when the first daylight appeared that we tried to apply these principles with the Kenjutsu series. Everybody had great pleasure to practice some Kata, from beginner to advanced people.
Sunday was mainly dedicated to the study of Kata by dividing the participants into groups according to their level: new Omote Kata for some, detailed study of Ran Ai for others, and Kage-Samidare-Gohon for the most advanced people.
And all this under the vigilant eyes of Jean-Claude......
And also Laurent's good advice.......
In short, this seminar was very successful, both by the work done and the conviviality and friendliness among the group.
Thanks to everybody.....and see you next year.
