Fribourg Gasshuku

from April 5 to 6, 2008

Nine participants gathered on Saturday during a springlike weather (rather nice on Saturday and snow on Sunday) in the school gym, near our dojo. In the morning, we had the chance to review kihon sotai and to practice intensively uchikomi with the first three kihon. After a delicious Thai food we started Omote; everybody could now practice with the remaining participants. During that time, the more advanced people did Chudan. After a nice shower we had an extremely delicious Vacherin fondue which is the specialty of the region.

The following day, we had the pleasure to welcome people from Valais (Giulio and his students) as well as from Montreux (Michel Ducret). Because of Michel's presence, the advanced participants had the chance to practice in detail Ran Ai and Kage, then every yudansha served as shidachi for the less advanced participants.

The Gasshuku took place in a very nice atmosphere (despite my bad physical condition on Saturday) and finally I would like to thank all participants, and in particular Matthias who came from far away, and also Michel Ducret.
